Find out what data management means, what benefits it brings, and how you can become more data-aware in your work.
As part of a data management awareness course, which I made together with the client, we concluded the training with a nice data management info-graphic.
About the training
Since the term data management doesn’t ring a bell for everyone this 2-hour training was set-up.
The training was a self-paced training with modules which provide answers to questions such as:
• What is data management?
• Data management: Why is it important?
• Data management: What do you make of it?
• Data management: What is the growth path?
• Data management: And now what?
The different modules were built around theory and a quiz to practice whether the material was understood correctly.
The Learning objectives were as follows:
• You can explain the definition of data management.
• You can name at least 2 benefits of data management for the organization and yourself.
• You know where to go for further questions.
• You know why data management is important.
• You understand that everyone is responsible for good data management.
• You understand that data management is not a one-off operation, but an ongoing process.
To give a little insight into the whole process, we started with brainstorming about the intended outcomes, our target group and in which way we could reach them best. After setting up the first training, we ended up doing proof of concepts to gather feedback and improve the training further.
